only the table top is solid wood. it is assembled from top down, very awkward and falls to pieces if not careful. most of the desk is compressed wood and not sturdy at all. get a solid wood one for this price. it definitely looks good but that is a deception. if you need to move this from one place to another forget it. it will fall apart.
