Well, I was worried...it looked like exactly what we wanted, and the price was good, too. But some of the reviews seemed to indicate 1. it was hard to put together, 2. it would arrive damaged.
But, it arrived intact, and it was surprisingly easy to put together. I've put together lots of this type of stuff over the years, and although IKEA stuff has better instructions (usually), this was really well labeled. I was especially impressed that all of the screws, dowels, latches, etc, were each in their own individual nicely labeled bags. This is way better than most, that have all the hardware in a couple of unlabeled bags, and you have to figure out which of the 5 different size screws is the one you need for the next step. Read through each section of instructions BEFORE you start assembly, it will go fine, even easy. Took me a little over an hour.
Quality: Surprise! It is mostly real wood. The finish is actually quite good. The color isn't quite as reddish as in the illustrations, it is darker. But, it still looks nice, especially with the other Mission furniture in the room.
Negatives: The enclosed allen wrench is really cheap and stripped out quickly on me. No big deal for me, I have tools. But, it might be a small issue for some. Also, a couple of the larger screw holes were kind of messed up, and the plugs didn't cover them completely. I debated calling the company for a replacement set of legs, but it isn't that noticeable.
Anyway, Yu Shan doesn't sound like a company that should have "Mission" style furniture, but it works!
Upon opening the carton the top of the desk was split and I had to send it back. UPS picked it up the next day and I was promptly credited.
